The Permanent Government and Union Parishad originated in 180. The Chowkidar Panchayat was first formed for the purpose of laying the foundation of rural areas for economic, administrative and political reasons. Ensuring its use and development and implementing various social activities of the government are the basic responsibilities of the Union Parishad. Besides, it carries out various service activities including maintaining law and order, establishing justice through village courts, registration of births and deaths, performing all kinds of work online, conducting various censuses, issuing various types of certificates, education, health, sanitation. The above mentioned activities are a part of the web portal of implementing the pledge to build a digital Bangladesh in the face of the challenges of the 21st century announced by the present government.
